Frankenfest Readathon Reader Application
During Frankenfest on September 30, 2017, Indiana Humanities is hosting an all-day readathon of
, Mary Shelley's remarkable novel that turns 200 in 2018! The readathon will take place in the operating theater of the Old Pathology Lab, formerly of Central State Hospital and now part of the Indiana Medical History Museum.
We're looking for readers to take the stage for 15-minute time slots throughout the readathon. Use the form below to let us know your preferred time and share a little about yourself and why you're excited to take part. We will do our best to include as many readers as possible!
We will notify successful applicants in early September with your final time slot and an estimate of what section of the book you'll be reading. Because each reader's pace varies, we do not know exactly which section of the book will correspond to your time slot.
Indiana Humanities' Frankenfest at the Indiana Medical History Museum promises to be an unforgettable kick-off to One State / One Story, our statewide read of Mary Shelley's
. In addition to the readathon, we'll have pop-up exhibits, film screenings, curatorial talks, hands-on art activities, a Franks-and-Steins beer garden and Frankengames. The readathon will be immediately followed by a live theatrical performance by the Hempstead Theater Company.

The readathon will take place from 12:30pm to approximately 9pm. Time slots will last for 15 minutes; please indicate which "hour" you'd like to read during (and let us know if you're available for more than one hour). We'll get back to you in early September with your assigned time slot and an estimate for which part of the book you'll be reading. (Due to varying readers' paces, we don't know for sure exactly which section you'll read--you'll just pick up where the previous reader left off!)
